We want to showcase the range of talent and build a relati
onship with local artists, offering them a stage, an audience .and a $300 prize.

Battle of the Bands is one such title throwing its hat into the ring. What Battle of the Bands does differently is it does not use any special peripheral; it relies on the Wii remote’s motion sensing technology instead.

The game, which is rated "T" for Teen and will ship with about 30 songs, lets whoever's leading the head-to-head match choose which of five genres these popular songs will be played in: rock, hip-hop, country, Latin, and marching band.

Can "Battle of the Bands" carve out its own niche along side other music heavyweights like "Guitar Hero" and "Rock Band." we'll find out when it launches next month for about $50.
