Mario Kart for Wii Atlast Available in Europe

Yesterday was a good day for most of us Europeans as we all (hopefully) got to grips with the latest in the Mario Kart series and Nintendo's new "Wii-Wheel" controller extension.

With (what I deem to be) the first major Nintendo Wii title to feature online gaming (and let me tell you now - it works very well) I thought it was prime time for the members of NintendoLife.com to get togther and share their (annoyingly long) friend codes for the game.

I see from the Wikipedia page on the game that it will be released later this month in Australia and North America. When it does, run to the shop and buy it.

The Wii remote fits into the plastic wheel that comes with the game and works pretty well. It’s not required though as you can just as easily hold the Wii remote without the wheel. Extra steering wheels are reasonably priced at around €10, even if it probably cost Nintendo a fraction of that to make ‘em…

New Mario Game - Mario Super Sluggers Comming up

Nintendo of America today revealed the first details on Mario Super Sluggers (Wii), the latest sports title to star Mario and what Nintendo referred to as "his unpredictable pals."

Do Fire Flowers count as performance-enhancing?

Mario Super Sluggers – a Mario Superstar Baseball (GCN) sequel slated to hit Japan this June – is also headed stateside later this year. While the details on this upcoming Wii title are still somewhat sketchy at the moment, we do know that Nintendo is hoping the game will provide the next step for the expanded audience brought in by Wii Sports, offering the same simple, motion-based controls, as well as Mii support (in addition to a gaggle of returning characters). Apart from that, all we have is the official statement from Nintendo below:

The ongoing excitement over Nintendo’s groundbreaking Wii system gets a suprise springtime boost with the announcement of a new game. Kicking off its semiannual media summit in San Francisco near the company’s new sales and marketing offices in Redwood City, California, Nintendo of America today revealed plans for Mario Super Sluggers for Wii, giving baseball fans even more reason to root this season.
“Mario is truly a one-of-a-king character; clearly fans can’t get enough of him and his friends,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “We’re giving Wii users brilliant new ways to enjoy him while expanding our series of active-play games.”

In the same spirit as other sports-themed Mario games on Wii like Mario Strikers Charged and Mario Kart Wii, Mario Super Sluggers blends richly interactive baseball action with eccentric characters and elements from across the popular Mario universe. Players can swing the wireless Wiimote just like a bat or wave it toward the plate to deliver a masterful pitch, enjoying the same intuitive, easy-to-learn controls that helped make Wii Sports a living room hit. With Mario and his unpredictable pals filling out the roster, imagination and active-play innovation are sure to dominate the diamond in this lively title, scheduled for release later this year.
